The San Clemente Planning Commission meets tonight, Wednesday April 22 2015.
The meeting is at 6:00pm at City Council Chambers.
The San Clemente City Council Chambers is located at 100 Avenida Presidio.
The public is encouraged to attend.
Tonight’s regularly scheduled meeting will include a public hearing on considering prohibiting
Commercial Mascots in the City of San Clemente.
The City of San Clemente current zoning ordinance does not address commercial mascots.
Commercial Mascots are inconsistent with the City’s goals for signage.
The City finds that Mascot’s are a safety concern.
Mascot’s tend to distract traffics and cause traffic delays.
The City finds that Mascot’s create Sign Clutter.
Other Orange County Cities do not allow live Mascot’s.
They include:
Dana Point
Laguna Niguel
San Juan Calistrano
Newport Beach
Mission Viejo
Lake Forest
Huntington Beach
