PRESENTATION FROM LAGUNA BEACH COUNTY WATER DISTRICT REGARDING WATER DEMANDS AND EVALUATING RECYCLED WATER IN LAGUNA BEACH
Presentation by the Water District that addresses water demands for the City’s public landscaped areas and examples of related project costs for proposed water reclamation and recycling projects.
Recommendations: Receive the presentation by the Laguna Beach County Water District regarding information about current water demands for the City’s public landscaped areas, and the upcoming study that will serve to evaluate the irrigation demands that could be supplied with recycled water throughout the District and the associated costs of building a distribution system to meet recycled water demands.
CALIFORNIA RIVER PARKWAYS GRANT APPLICATION FOR LAGUNA CANYON Proposed grant funding opportunity.
Recommendations:
1) Endorse the application to pursue a grant from the California Natural Resources Agency’s California River Parkways Grant Program
2) authorize an appropriation of up to $125,000 from the Open Space Fund to be included as matching funds to be competitive for the grant award
3) authorize the City Manager to:
(a) execute grant application agreements and other related documentation needed to pursue the grant for the DeWitt Property Habitat Restoration Project
(b) include a portion of Laguna Creek south of the Phillips Road in the project.
