The Dana Point 50 Year Time Capsule Celebration is a Dana Point Free Family Friendly Event at Baby Beach in Dana Point Harbor.
Dana Point Baby Beach is located at 34445 Ensenada Place in Dana Point Harbor.
There will be a BBQ Dinner after the Time Capsule ceremony.

Fifty years ago on Monday, August 29, 1966, a rock-placing ceremony sponsored by the County of Orange, the Orange County Harbor District and local Organizations marked the start of construction of Dana Point Harbor.
The event took place at Doheny State Beach, during which a time capsule was sealed into a rock chosen from those forming the breakwater.
On May 6, 2016, Orange County Parks removed the 8-ton rock from Puerto Place at the Harbor to the John D Cooper Archaeological and Paleontological Center in Santa Ana where the time capsule contents will be cataloged and prepared for the exhibit.
“The Rock” will be steam cleaned and placed at its new location at Baby Beach.
