South OC Beaches Rain Day Friday February 17 2017

The National Weather Service forecasts a Pacific Storm System for South OC Beaches Friday February 17 2017.
A strong Pacific storm system will move across Southern California today through Saturday February 18 2017.
Winds will increase and become very strong towards midday.

The strongest winds and biggest potential for damaging and gusts is between 2 PM and Midnight.

Wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph are expected from the coast to the valleys and across the deserts.

Isolated wind gust reports of up to 75 mph are not out of the question.

Winds of this magnitude will have the potential to cause widespread downed trees and branches, and for power outages and property damage.

Driving will be hazardous due to debris…including downed trees on roadways…and High- profile vehicles…such as semi trucks and toy haulers…will be prone to blowing over due to strong cross- winds…especially on east- west oriented routes.

Light rain in the early afternoon hours will likely turn into heavier rain during the Friday February 17 2017 commute hours.

Rain is expected throughout the evening and through late Saturday February 17 2017 afternoon hours.

South OC Beaches is expecting temperatures between 53 and 60 Degrees Friday February 17 2017.
