California Coastal Commission Public Hearings Thursday June 7 2018

Public hearing and action to extend time limit for Commission action up to one year for certification of City of Long Beach LCP Amendment No. 1-18 which would amend the SEADIP Specific Plan (Southeast Area Development and Improvement Plan, PD-1) to allow oil production uses in SEADIP Subareas 19 and 25, the locations of an oil well consolidation project proposed by Beach Oil Minerals Partners (BOMP), in southeast Long Beach, Los Angeles County.

Public hearing and action on request by the City of Oceanside to amend its Implementation Plan to allow multi-family uses by right within Subdistrict 13 of the Downtown District, except for parcels fronting or abutting North Coast Highway and Highway 78.

Public hearing and action on request by City of Carlsbad to amend the certified Village Master Plan and Design Manual (LUP) and Zoning Ordinance (IP) to clarify that uses prohibited in other chapters of the City’s Municipal Code are also prohibited land uses within the certified LCP.

Public hearing and action on request by City of Encinitas to amend zoning ordinance and specific plans of the LCP Implementation Plan to address changes in state law, correct errors and clarify ambiguities.

Public hearing and action on request by the City of Del Mar to amend its certified LCP Implementation Plan to establish new regulations for short term vacation rentals.

Public hearing and action to extend the time limit for Commission action for up to one year on City of Chula Vista’s request to amend the certified Chula Vista Bayfront Land Use Plan and Specific Plan to modify the land use designation of Parcel 1a from Commercial Professional and Administrative to Commercial Visitor.

California Coastal Commission Mission

The mission of the California Coastal Commission is to protect, conserve, restore, and enhance environmental and human-based resources of the California coast and ocean for environmentally sustainable and prudent use by current and future generations.

The Commission holds monthly public meetings of three to five days in length in different locations throughout the state.
The Commission meetings provide an opportunity for the Coastal Commissioners to take public testimony and to make permit, planning, and other policy decisions.
Prior to each meeting, Commission staff collects and analyzes information pertinent to meeting agenda items and prepares written staff reports with recommendations for Commission action.
These staff reports are available for public review, by contacting the appropriate Commission office. Some
elected staff reports are also available electronically by means of a link from the Commission’s
Meeting Notice.
