For those unable to attend the early comment period, there may be additional comment time available later in the day.

Resolution on Sea Level Rise and Shoreline Preservation
Commission discussion and possible action on resolution committing to maintain and enhance California’s beaches and shoreline habitats as sea level rises.

11 Lagunita Drive in Laguna Beach
Public hearing and Commission action on proposed administrative order directing and authorizing owners of property located at 11 Lagunita Drive, Laguna Beach (APN 656-171-76) to: 1) either remove unpermitted development at the site related to the house or apply for a coastal development permit (CDP) to authorize a modified version of the unpermitted development that would not rely, for protection, on a seawall or any other device that harms the beach, and, if necessary, would instead protect any development that is to remain using an alternative method that does not harm the beach;
2) comply with the existing CDP for the site (A-5-LGB-14-0027), including by removing the seawall; and
3) cease and desist from undertaking additional unpermitted development.

California Coastal Commission Mission

The mission of the California Coastal Commission is to protect, conserve, restore, and enhance environmental and human-based resources of the California coast and ocean for environmentally sustainable and prudent use by current and future generations.

The Commission holds monthly public meetings of three to five days in length in different locations throughout the state.
The Commission meetings provide an opportunity for the Coastal Commissioners to take public testimony and to make permit, planning, and other policy decisions.
Prior to each meeting, Commission staff collects and analyzes information pertinent to meeting agenda items and prepares written staff reports with recommendations for Commission action.
These staff reports are available for public review, by contacting the appropriate Commission office. Some
elected staff reports are also available electronically by means of a link from the Commission’s
Meeting Notice.
