California Coastal Commission September 2018 Meeting Agenda Is Online

Laguna Beach and Dana Point Items are scheduled for Friday September 14 2018.

Laguna Beach: Appeal by Mark Fudge from decision of City of Laguna Beach granting permit to Merrick Leckey for lot line adjustment to modify shared property line between two commonly owned vacant parcels at 749 Marlin Dr., Laguna Beach, Orange County.

Dana Point: Request by OC Dana Point Harbor to amend permit to repair 46 concrete filled steel piles by wrapping them in fiberglass jacket (Simpson-Strong Tie Jacket approach), at 34675 Golden Lantern, Dana Point, Orange County.

The Scheduled items for Wednesday September 12 2018 will focus primarily on Northern California.

City of Fort Bragg Mill Site Comprehensive Plan

Public hearing and action on request of the City of Fort Bragg to amend the certified LCP to change the requirements for land use planning of the approx. 400-acre former Georgia Pacific lumber mill site west of Highway 1 to (1) replace the currently required specific plan process with a community-based comprehensive planning process, (2) establish minimum approval criteria and minimum geographic planning areas, and (3) eliminate a mandate to extend the City’s grid and add a north-south arterial.

Public hearing and action on request of the City of Trinidad to amend the certified land use plan (LUP) to allow for an extension of water service from the City to the Trinidad California Dept. of Forestry and Fire Protection Station at 923 Patrick’s Point Drive located outside the designated service area boundary of the City’s LUP.

Public hearing and action on request of the County of Humboldt to amend certified land use plan (LUP) to allow for an extension of water service from the City of Trinidad to the Trinidad California Dept. of Forestry and Fire Protection Station at 923 Patrick’s Point Drive located outside both the designated urban and service area boundaries of the County’s LUP.

Public hearing and action on request of the City of Fort Bragg to amend the certified LCP to redesignate and rezone a portion of an existing 0.69-acre parcel located at the southeastern corner of the intersection of Highway One and Boatyard Drive from Very High Density Residential (RVH) to Highway Visitor Commercial (CH)

California Coastal Commission Mission

The mission of the California Coastal Commission is to protect, conserve, restore, and enhance environmental and human-based resources of the California coast and ocean for environmentally sustainable and prudent use by current and future generations.

The Commission holds monthly public meetings of three to five days in length in different locations throughout the state.
The Commission meetings provide an opportunity for the Coastal Commissioners to take public testimony and to make permit, planning, and other policy decisions.
Prior to each meeting, Commission staff collects and analyzes information pertinent to meeting agenda items and prepares written staff reports with recommendations for Commission action.
These staff reports are available for public review, by contacting the appropriate Commission office. Some
elected staff reports are also available electronically by means of a link from the Commission’s
Meeting Notice.
