The Laguna Beach Arts Commission meets Monday June 10 2019.
The Laguna Beach Arts Commission will be meeting at Laguna Beach City Council Chambers.
Laguna Beach City Council Chambers is located at 505 Forest Avenue.
The public is encouraged to attend.
Members of the Arts Commission advise City Council about matters pertaining to artistic and aesthetic aspects of the City.
This includes rules and regulations necessary for the administration and preservation of fine arts, performing arts, and aesthetic aspects of the community.
Members of the Arts Commission serve two-year terms.
Proposed Discussion Items Include:
Holiday Palette Deaccession – Discuss and recommend action for the remaining uncollected palettes.
Temporary Art Installation – Discuss and approve the artist in residency of Mark Jenkins culminating with a temporary art installation on the lawn of City Hall and approve an honorarium of $25,000; residency of Isaac Cordal culminating with an installation at Big Bend and approve an honorarium of $20,000; and residency of David Zinn culminating with installations in the Downtown and approve an honorarium of $15,000.
Flood Channel Transition Structure at Beach Street – Discuss and approve the inclusion of public art as part of the project and provide input for the sub-committee and staff.
Music in the Park – Discuss performers and arrangements for the event
