The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is on Saturday September 14 2019 in Laguna Niguel California.
Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated.
Relay For Life is a grass roots, community-based team event at Laguna Niguel Regional Park at 8:00am-2:00pm.
9:00am: Opening Ceremony
Kick off the event honors everyone who’s been affected by cancer and everyone who has contributed to the success of this year’s Relay season.
Immediately Following The Opening Ceremony: Survivor/Caregiver Walk
Survivors and Caregivers are the heart and soul of Relay For Life events.
Honoring their strength and courage with every step they take.
It doesn’t matter if you were diagnosed 10 days ago or 10 years ago, you can walk while everyone gathers together to cheer you on.
1:00pm: Luminaria and Dove Release Ceremony
During this ceremony they represent everyone touched by cancer with a Luminaria and Dove release ceremony.
The display of Luminaria and the release of Doves, represent lives—lives taken by cancer, survivors of cancer, or support for those still fighting the disease.
It’s a powerful demonstration that gives people the opportunity to grieve but also offers comfort and hope.
1:45pm: Closing Ceremony
Time to commit to take action and help lead the fight for a world free from cancer.
It’s a time to celebrate what has been accomplished together and a time to unify for the work that needs to be done moving forward.
