Public comments will be heard at 9:00am for items not on the agenda, for no more than 30 minutes.
For those unable to attend the early comment period, there may be additional comment time available later in the day.

Appeal by Commissioners Brownsey and Hart, and Concerned Residents of Dana Point, c/o Tyler Hee, of decision by City of Dana Point granting permit with conditions to Global Resorts, Inc. for lot merger and construction of 6-level plus roof deck, 47,988 sq.ft., 51-room hotel with 25% on-site low-cost overnight accommodations, including 20,065 sq.ft. 61-space subterranean parking garage, approx. 8,600 cu.yds. of grading, and public blufftop trail improvements on vacant 17,737 sq.ft. coastal bluff lot, at 34482 Green Lantern, Dana Point, Orange County.

Hollister Ranch Public Access Program Update
Public Engagement Strategy:
Stakeholder Event # 1 will be held in mid-December.
Interviews will be conducted with individuals or small groups of people reflecting a range of stakeholder perspectives to elicit key interest and concerns regarding future public access to the Hollister Ranch coastline. These groups include HROA Board and residents, Santa Barbara County officials, various nonprofit groups associated with trails and environmental protection, tribal leaders, etc.

Stakeholder Event # 2 will be held in late January 2020.
This event will be an open house and dialog with summaries of information gathered to date, explanation of the planning and public engagement process, and discussion of project goals and draft vision statement.

Site Review and Analysis:
Research and mapping of site conditions will begin April-May 2020.
This task will identify and analyze the site conditions and resources, in relation to proposed public use areas.

California Coastal Commission Mission

The mission of the California Coastal Commission is to protect, conserve, restore, and enhance environmental and human-based resources of the California coast and ocean for environmentally sustainable and prudent use by current and future generations.

The Commission holds monthly public meetings of three to five days in length in different locations throughout the state.
The Commission meetings provide an opportunity for the Coastal Commissioners to take public testimony and to make permit, planning, and other policy decisions.
Prior to each meeting, Commission staff collects and analyzes information pertinent to meeting agenda items and prepares written staff reports with recommendations for Commission action.
These staff reports are available for public review, by contacting the appropriate Commission office. Some
elected staff reports are also available electronically by means of a link from the Commission’s
Meeting Notice.
