Dana Point Library Genealogy Talk Sunday February 9 2020

Orange County Public Libraries

Dana Point Library Genealogy Talk Sunday February 9 2020.

Introduction to Jewish Genealogy presented by Joel Weintraub is at 2:00pm thru 4:00pm.

This is a Dana Point Free Family Friendly Event.

Join Joel Weintraub as he sets out to find the roots of his “Russian” maternal grandfather.
Using records in time and space, oral history, research sites, and major online websites including JewishGen and Yad Vashem, a clearer picture of his ethnic and genetic ties to the past become evident. The journey led him to the discovery of a previously unknown Great Aunt.

As part of the OC Library’s “Big Read” of Roz Chast’s book “Can’t we talk about something more pleasant?”, this talk also includes Joel’s research of some of Roz’s genealogy.
And that information leads to a surprising discovery by Joel.
