University of California in Irvine and Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Long Beach announced a Transition to Virtual Learning Due to CoronaVirus Pandemic on Wednesday March 11 2020.
The University of California in Irvine announced that there are “no confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the UCI community at this time.”
Saturday March 14 2020 thru Friday March 20 2020: Winter Quarter Final Exams Administered Remotely
Wednesday March 25 2020 thru Friday June 12 2020 : Spring Quarter Remote Learning
Students living on campus at UCI are strongly encouraged to return to their off-campus residences and, if possible, and to stay at home during the Spring 2020 quarter.
UCI Campus offices will remain open and most operations will continue.
Cal State Long Beach states that ,”There are no confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 in our campus community. Still, we are temporarily suspending the in-person, on-campus convening of classes.
The campus will remain open.”
Thursday March 12 2020 thru Tuesday March 17 2020: Face to Face Classes are Cancelled*
Wednesday March 18 2020: Alternative Instruction Begins*
Online Classes Continue As Scheduled
*=: Some courses will continue to meet in person if alternative instruction is not appropriate, such as some laboratory, performing-arts, and physical-education courses.
Accommodations associated with social distancing will be implemented in these courses.
Cal State Fullerton reports, “our campus remains safe, and while we continue to have zero presumptive or confirmed cases of COVID-19 on or related to our campus, we are bolstering our preventative and social distancing measures.”

Wednesday March 25 2020 through Sunday April 26 2020: Virtual Instruction Mandatory
Cal State Fullerton Campus will remain open during every phase of these precautionary efforts, and students continue to be welcome to utilize all on-campus amenities, including housing, food services, the Health Center, the library and CAPS.
Concerned students are free to limit their physical engagement with the campus, but offices and buildings will remain open with uninterrupted operations; staff will continue to work on site.
Certain courses and activities, such as some performing arts and laboratory research, will continue to meet face-to-face with approval from the respective College’s dean.
In these instances, social distancing accommodations will be implemented.
Cal State Fullerton will continue to work on possible non-face-to-face modalities for these classes as well.
