Dana Point Is Under A California Stay At Home Order
It feels like summer, but as a reminder, Dana Point is still under a Stay at Home order.
The City has modified some parking restrictions and some street closures to reduce impacts of beach parking in residential areas.
An updated list is below.
Please be courteous to the Public Works team and Sheriffs Deputies who are doing their best to deal with traffic impacts and people looking to access the beach.

County of Orange
New Orange County Health Care Agency Interim Director
There has been a change of leadership at the Orange County Health Care Agency.
Yesterday, County CEO Frank Kim announced the retirement of Orange County Health Care Agency Director, David Souleles, and appointed Lilly Simmering as Interim Director.
This is the second departure for the head of the County Agency at the forefront of Coronavirus efforts.
This departure follows the exit of Richard Sanchez, who left in late March for CalOptima.
Face Coverings Required for Essential Services Employees
Effective at 12 a.m. on Friday April 24 2020 all employees of any grocery store, pharmacy/drug store, convenience store, gas station, restaurant, food preparation establishment, or retail store in Orange County who may have contact with the public must wear a cloth face covering while at work.
The Orange County Board of Supervisors approved the directive Tuesday from Vice Chairman Andrew Do, First District Supervisor, pursuant to Government Code section 8634 that will apply countywide.
OC COVID-19 Testing Network
The OC Health Care Agency (HCA) has announced the launch of the OC COVID-19 Testing Network, which offers COVID-19 testing to Orange County residents who meet certain criteria.
The Network coordinates and expands testing across Orange County to create a safety net for any community member who is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms but is unable to receive testing through a health care provider. More about that here.
A Company in Irvine Offered Antibody Tests to Their Employees
415 showed up and were tested, with 10% showing antibodies to Coronavirus. Read about this here.

OC Health Care Agency Health Referral Line
The OC COVID-19 Public Information Hotline will refer callers to the OC Health Care Agency Health Referral Line staring Saturday April 18 2020.
Residents can continue to call 1(833)426-6411 for inquiries related to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Orange County, California.

The State of California
California Prohibits Debt Collectors Form Garnishing Stimulus Checks
The Governor signed an Executive Order on April 23 2020, to prevent debt collectors from garnishing stimulus checks Californians have received, or will receive, as a result of the CARES Act.

California Grants A 60 Day Extension For Some DMV Deadlines
The Governor also issued an Executive Order to grant a 60-day extension for customers on several Department of Motor Vehicles deadlines, including for recently expired drivers’ licenses and identification cards, to reflect public compliance with the COVID-19 stay at home order.
The action also suspends late fees from being applied to expired vehicle registrations.
The order will also temporarily allow retailers, particularly grocery stores, to provide bags to consumers without charge, and to pause redemption of beverage containers in-store to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Read more here.
\California Does Not Have A Target Date to Re-Open the State
Governor Newsom has yet to present a target date to start re-opening the State, but will allow hospitals to resume scheduling essential surgeries. Read more here.
United States of America Federal Government
The House passed a $484 billion bill that expands small-business aid and provides funds for hospitals and testing.
$310 billion will replenish the Paycheck Protection Program (which was depleted after the initial wave of applicants)
$60 billion will be made available for Economic Injury and Disaster Loans through the Small Business Administration
$75 billion goes to hospitals
$25 billion to Coronavirus testing.

Safe Water
Mouton Niguel and South Coast Water District want to assure residents that our water is safe and reliable. Water quality and supply have not been affected by the coronavirus (COVID -19).
San Diego Gas & Electric (SDGE)
SDG&E has suspended disconnections for nonpayment until further notice.
They have also implemented a number of tools to help customers online
So Cal Gas
SoCalGas is working with residential customers on bill payment and small businesses by waiving late payment fees. They also have tips to save energy. Learn More at SoCalGas.
Cox Communications
Cox has temporarily adjusted its Cox Solutions Store hours in California as residents are directed to stay at home amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As an essential business that provides critical communications services, Cox Solutions Store locations will stay open from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Monday through Friday to serve customers.
Stores will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
