California Governor Gavin Newsom closes Orange County State and local Beaches effective May 1 2020.
The California Orange County Beach closures targeted the beaches that experienced high crowds during The April 24 2020-April 26 2020 weekend.
The Governor stated that, “If we set back the clock and delay our reopening as an economy, I don’t want to delay our reopening. The only way to delay it is more weekends like last weekend in the next few weeks.”
The Governor was expected to close all California Beaches and all California State Parks.
A California Police Chiefs Association Memo on Wednesday April 29 2020 detailed that California Governor Gavin Newsom will be closing all Beaches and all State Parks on Friday May 1 2020.

When asked about the Memo, the Governor replied that< “That the “memo” never got to me.”
He conveyed that he and his team has been clear and transparent.
