Restaurants May Apply to Reopen with Patio Seating
The City of Dana Point has announced a new temporary permit for local restaurants to help them establish a safe, clean environment for workers and customers in compliance with the State’s COVID-19 guidance for business.
The intent of this temporary permit is to enable businesses to reopen, when authorized by the County and State, with the ability to modify operations but to also ensure compatibility with the community. Specifically, the temporary outdoor operating permit allows for outdoor seating on private property, in a private parking area, and/or in public right-of-way.

Resilience Roadmap OC
Many Orange County residents have been staying home and saving lives since the start of California’s stay-at-home order.
These efforts have allowed the state to move forward on the roadmap for modifying the statewide order. We are now moving into Stage 2, where some lower-risk workplaces can gradually open with adaptations. For a list of what is and what is not permitted View The Resilience Roadmap OC.
Before the County can move further into Stage 2, several criteria outlined by the state must be met. County Supervisors received a report on Orange County’s progress on these criteria yesterday at the Board of Supervisors meeting.
Several of the criteria are challenging for urban counties, such as Orange County, to meet.
Efforts to discuss the criteria with the state are underway by Orange County, and other urban counties such as Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties.

While no date was announced for these activities, he emphasized that counties may fulfill updated criteria to move forward in Stage 2, but did not indicate if Orange County was one of the “roughly 53” counties that will receive approval for broader reopening.
