Active Beach Recreation Allowed

Walking ACTIVE RECREATION PERMITTED BEACH ACTIVITIES (including, but not limited to):
Parking is open at full capacity (Updated May 29 2020)
Ocean recreation: swimming, paddle boarding, surfing, bodyboarding, skim boarding, kayaking
Physical activity which keeps individuals in non-stationary active motion

Non Permitted Beach Activities

Beach towels, blankets, easy-ups, tents, umbrellas, etc.- items used for settling in place
Sitting or lying on beach
Setting up chairs and staying in place

California State Beaches Information During COVID-19

Stay Local: Walk or bike into the beach. (Do not drive to the beach)

Keep It Moving: Keep walking, jogging, surfing, swimming, etc.
(No sitting. No sunbathing.)

Stay Safer at 6 Feet: Maintain a physical distance of 6 feet or more.

Visitors are being asked to leave if there are too many people at the beach or on trails to allow for the required physical distance.

San Onfore State Beach is located at Basilone Road
Temporarily closed to vehicular access, meaning there are no parking facilities and parking on roadways is prohibited to protect public health from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hours: Surfing/Beach: 6:00am-10:00pm and Bluffs/Trails: 6:00am-Sunset

Huntington Beach City Beach

Huntington City Beach is directly across Pacific Coast Highway and extends north from Beach Boulevard to Seapoint Street.
Active Recreational Use Permitted between 5:00am-10:00pm
Biking on Bike Path is allowed
PCH Parking Meters Can be used

Active Recreational Use
Beaches Open at 6:00am to 10:00pm Seven Days A Week
Beach Parking Lots May be Closed or limited.
Handicapped spaces remain available on a first- come, first-served basis in the McFadden Square parking lot (at the base of Newport Pier) and in the City parking lot at 32nd and Newport Blvd.

Newport Harbor remains open for all normally allowed water activities
The City’s 16 tennis courts will be available for singles play only

County Beaches in South Laguna Beach (Aliso, Table Rock, West, Camel Point, and Treasure Island beaches)
Parking is open at full capacity.
Hours: 6:00am thru 10:00pm Daily.
Thousand Steps Beach Hours: 9:00am-6:00pm Daily
(please note the access way and restroom at Thousand Steps are closed)

Laguna Beach Beaches Open For Active Use

Hours: 6:00am-10:00pm for Active Recreation on Monday thru Friday

Hours: 6:00am-12:00pm for Active Recreation on Saturday and Sunday

These new hours are on a trial basis.
Beachgoers are required to maintain at least six feet of physical distance from one another.
All dogs must be on a leash.

While visiting the beach, please remember to honor social distancing requirements and to keep all dogs on a leash. If you require ADA Accommodations to access the beach, contact the Laguna Beach Marine Safety Department at (949) 494-6572.

Seal Beach Beaches Are Open

Beaches Open from 4:30am-10:00pm Monday thru Sunday

The 1 , 8 , and 10 Street Beach Parking Lots will also reopen
To ensure social distancing requirements are being followed, 50% of the parking spaces will be closed. Beachgoers will be required to park in every other parking stall
Parking with a vessel trailer/rack in boat launch lots only (Sunset Aquatic Park).

Beachgoers will still be required to remain active and no passive use will be allowed.
