Laguna Beach Public Hearing: Amend the Implementation Plan (IP) portion of the certified LCP

Newport Beach Public Hearing: and Commission action on proposed administrative order directing and authorizing the City of Newport Beach to remove private encroachments from public beach located on four city-owned properties in the Peninsula Point area of Newport Beach.

Newport Beach: Public hearing and Commission action on proposed administrative order directing and authorizing the City of Newport Beach to restore, with appropriate native habitat, areas of the beach in the Peninsula Point area of the city that were impacted by the placement of private encroachments.

Newport Beach: Public hearing and Commission action on proposed imposition of administrative penalties, requiring homeowners in the Peninsula Point area of the City of Newport Beach who placed or maintained private encroachments on public sandy beach to pay penalties for violations of the public access provisions of the Coastal Act at that site

Encinitas: Public hearing and action on request by City of Encinitas to amend its Downtown Encinitas Specific Plan (part of the certified IP) to modify the planting palette and recommendations, design requirements and guidelines for street trees.

City of San Diego: Public hearing and action to extend the 60-day time limit for Commission action for up to one year on request by City of San Diego to amend the certified Implementation Plan (IP) with the 12th Update to the Land Development Code, containing 39 changes in various categories: general zoning, cannabis regulation, development with a utilized development permit, special flood areas, and minor corrections.

Santa Barbara County: Application of Chevron, USA for follow-on permit to 2019 Emergency Permit for repair and replacement of two pier pilings at Casitas Pier, in Carpinteria.

Long Beach: Marina Homeowners Association
Replacement of approx. 2,500 linear feet of security wall on north, south, and west property lines of Marina Pacifica Condominium Development; tree removal and replacement on private property may be required as part of fence replacement projects at 6201 East 2nd Street Long Beach

California Coastal Commission Mission

The mission of the California Coastal Commission is to protect, conserve, restore, and enhance environmental and human-based resources of the California coast and ocean for environmentally sustainable and prudent use by current and future generations.

The Commission holds monthly public meetings of three to five days in length in different locations throughout the state.
The Commission meetings provide an opportunity for the Coastal Commissioners to take public testimony and to make permit, planning, and other policy decisions.
Prior to each meeting, Commission staff collects and analyzes information pertinent to meeting agenda items and prepares written staff reports with recommendations for Commission action.
These staff reports are available for public review, by contacting the appropriate Commission office. Some
elected staff reports are also available electronically by means of a link from the Commission’s
Meeting Notice.
