Comic Con Panels Thursday July 23 2020
Thursday sees Comic-Con return in full swing (albeit virtually) with over a hundred diverse panels to choose for your viewing pleasure on Comic Con YouTube Channel
View Thursday’s schedule at Comic Con and you will find dozens of panels that meet your pop culture interest. With the ability to view these panels any time you choose after their initial release, you’re likely to enjoy Thursday at Comic-Con for days to come!
Here are just a few of the panels we’re looking forward to.
Selected Panels Include
10:00am: CausePlay: In Service To Others
Mark Chu-Lin (event coordinator and Avengers Initiative club president), Amber Chavez (child life special programs coordinator for CHOC Children’s), Luke Morand (media programs coordinator for CHOC Children’s), Anthony Wills (pediatrician and Avengers Initiative member), Terrance Thompson (surgical scrub nurse and Avengers Initiative member), and Hanna Trevizo (EMT and Avengers Initiative member), will discuss how cosplayers and prop builders serve their communities through their love of pop-culture. Hear about their experiences, learn how to join organized groups and some of the organizations that receive help, and find out how to get involved in service efforts. By using skills one already has, and sharing them with others, people can help others have a better day. For information about the Avengers Initiative and CHOC Children’s, please check out their websites and social media pages at https://linktr.ee/AIandCHOC.
A Look Inside “Marvel’s 616” on Disney+
Marvel’s 616 explores how Marvel’s rich legacy of stories, characters and creators exist within the “world outside your window.” Each documentary, helmed by a unique filmmaker, explores the intersections of storytelling, pop culture and fandom within the Marvel Universe. Join directors Gillian Jacobs, Paul Scheer, and executive producers Sarah Amos and Jason Sterman as they discuss the making of this Disney+ original anthology series with moderator Angélique Roché.
3:00pm: The Boy’s Season 2
Join executive producer Eric Kripke, along with series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, and Aya Cash, with moderator Aisha Tyler, for a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming second season of The Boys. Executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will also make a special appearance. Based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. The even more intense, more insane season two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought.

4:00pm: Inside the Voice Actor’s Studio-Home Edition
Inside the Voice Actors Studio will give an inside look at what it really takes to become a voice actor in this day and age, with a focus on the new challenges facing the profession as a whole. Hosted by Tony Oliver (voice director and actor), and joined by Dee Bradley Baker, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, and Laura Stahl, this panel will discuss the essentials that new actors need to know as they launch their journeys into the industry, as well as what kind of experiences they can expect along the way. The panelists will also speak to the effects of the recent shut-downs and industry changes occurring due to the pandemic, social unrest, and shifting paradigms.
6:00pm: Mystery Science Theater 3000: A Panel Panorama
Erik Adams (The A.V. Club) leads a discussion with MST3K creator Joel Hodgson and former cast members Bill Corbett (Crow T. Robot #2) and J. Elvis Weinstein (Tom Servo #1) as they engage in some good old-fashioned Q&A
