Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA) Dana Point Rail Track Extension Virtual Community Meeting Wednesday February 24 2021.

Metrolink, in coordination with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) are proposing to extend 1.2 miles of railroad track in Dana Point.
The project is in the environmental review and preliminary design phase.
The public is invited to a virtual scoping meeting to learn more about the proposed project and the environmental process.
Participants are encouraged to share comments and ask questions about the project.
The meeting will be held in English and Spanish and a recording of the meeting will be made available the next day.
OCTA Dana Point Serra Siding Extension Project Highlights
Extend 1.2 miles of the existing siding track from Victoria Boulevard to approximately Beach Road
Replace the existing railroad single-track bridge over Coast Highway with two single-track bridges
Replace and/or add fencing along Coast Highway
Improve segments of the main track
Construct retaining walls
Relocate existing utilities
Provides a safer, more reliable and efficient passenger service
Enables frequent train service.
When combined with other SCORE projects, passengers can expect train service every 30 minutes in each direction
Enhances operational efficiency of passenger services by reducing the risk of train delays and operational shutdowns during routine maintenance and single-track incidents.
Improves on-time performance for Metrolink’s Orange County and Inland Empire-Orange County lines.
