Dana Point Beaches Remain closed Tuesday October 5 2021.
The City of Dana Point announced that Orange County Beaches in Dana Point California will remain closed due to recent Oil Spill.
The United States Coast Guard Unified Command is reporting the both Newport Beach Harbor and Dana Point Harbor are closed.

Oil Recovered: 3,150 gallons
Boom Deployed: 5,360 feet
Spill Reported at: Saturday October 2 2021 at 9:00am
Reason For Spill: Possible broken pipeline from from a offshore oil platform managed by Beta Offshore (Amplify Energy Corp).

CDFW-OSPR is monitoring for oiled wildlife.
If anyone encounters oiled wildlife, do not approach. Call the Oiled Wildlife Care Network at 1-877-823-6926.
Sunday October 3 2021 at 8:30am: Pacific Marine Mammal Center (PMMC) will be assisting multiple agencies and organizations to help in the recovery efforts.
At this time they have yet to see any oiled marine life but if you do in the Orang County area please call 949-494-3050.
