Orange County Fire Authority is trying to manage hot spots, mitigating hazards and making sure the area is safe.
Orange County Fire Authority Firefighters are continuing to work to allow residents that evacuated during the Coastal Fire back into the homes.
Coastal Fire Mandatory Evacuation Zone Significantly Reduced

The City of Laguna Niguel reported that, “the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) and the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), have been successful with further containment leading to a reduction from 900 homes to 131 homes in the mandatory evacuation zone.
The Orange County Coastal Fire has burned over 200 acres since the half acre fire started mid afternoon Wednesday May 11 2022.
The fire started near the South Orange County Wastewater Authority’s Coastal Treatment Plant.

Orange County Fire Authority is reporting that they are continuing to work to allow residents that evacuated during the Coastal Fire back into their home.
Orange County Sheriff is reporting that up to 900 homes were under evacuation.

The Cause of the Coastal Fire is the early stages of investigation.
Southern California Edison (SCE) notified State Regulators (California Public Utilities Commission) that “our information reflects circuit activity occurring close in time to the reported time of the fire. Our investigation is ongoing.”
