San Clemente State Beach
San Clemente State Beach is located at 225W. Calafia Avenue in San Clemente.
A California state beach since 1937.
It is popular among water sport enthusiasts, and anyone who wishes to escape from inland heat and nearby metropolitan areas for the day.
The beautiful mile long beach stretches between the curling ocean surf and the foot of a steep bluff.
Doheny State Beach
25300 Dana Point Harbor Drive in Dana Point.
Doheny State Beach is located in the city of Dana Point, California and is one of California’s most popular state beaches and attracts almost one million visitors per year. Doheny has a day use surfing beach at its northern end and a five-acre lawn with picnic facilities and volleyball courts.
San Onofre State Beach Hike at 9:00am-11:00am
Where: Trestles Trail on Christianitos Rd/El Camino Real in San Clemente, CA
Time: 9am-11am
Parking: Park on Christianitos Rd or El Camino Real or Trestles Parking Lot (Day use fees apply)
What to expect: Hikers will pass through Coastal Sage Scrub, Riparian habitat into the Trestles Natural Preserve. Bring binoculars for bird watching.
Length of hike: 2 miles roundtrip.
Ages: All ages- children need to be accompanied by parent/guardian.
Preparation: Dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes and sunscreen. Bring water and a snack.

This state beach is 3 miles south of the city of San Clemente on Interstate 5 at Basilone Road.
San Onofre Bluffs and San Onofre Surf Beach are located south of San Clemente on I-5 (Exit Basilone Road).
The San Mateo Campground is located on the outer edge of San Clemente; 1 mile inland from I-5 (Exit Cristianitos)
San Onofre State Beach is one of California’s most popular beaches and hosts surfers, swimmers, sunbathers, campers, kayakers, birders, fishermen and bicyclists.
It has almost 2.5 million visitors per year and it is one of the top five most-visited state parks in California. Whales, dolphins and sea lions can be seen offshore from time to time.
The state beach has three distinct areas: the San Onofre Bluffs, the San Mateo Campground and the San Onofre Surf Beach.
Crystal Cove State Park
Crystal Cove State Park is located at 8471 North Coast Highway in Laguna Beach.
Crystal Cove State Park’s rolling surf, sandy beaches, tidepools, gently sloping hills, and deeply wooded canyons and ridges provide a delightful contrast to its urban surroundings.
Located off busy Pacific Coast Highway between Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove is one of Orange County’s largest remaining examples of open space and natural seashore.
Corona del Mar State Beach is a popular place for swimmers.
The half-mile long sandy beach is framed by cliffs and a rock jetty that forms the east entrance to Newport Harbor.
The beach is also popular with surfers and divers.
The beach can be reached via an access road near the intersection of Iris Street and Ocean Boulevard in Corona del Mar.
Huntington in a great place to surf, swim, sunbathe, fish or just watch the sun set.
There are volleyball courts, basketball courts, fire-rings for bonfires and a multi-use trail.
A paved beachside trail runs for 8.5 miles between Huntington and Bolsa Chica State Beaches, with the 3.5-mile Huntington City Beach wedged between them.
The beach is west of the intersection of Magnolia Avenue & Hwy 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) in the City of Huntington Beach.
Bolsa Chica is a perfect place to go surfing, sunbathing, play volleyball, enjoy water sports, hold family outings or to watch the sun set.
The beach consistently draws prime waves and the surf breaks in shallower water, causing incoming waves to form a desirable curled shape as they crest.
Bolsa Chica is also a place for surf fishing of perch, corbina, California corbina, croaker, cabezon, shovelnose guitar fish and sand shark.
At new and full moons during the summer, visitors can enjoy bare-handed fishing for California grunion, a species that only spawns on sandy southern California beaches.
Under state law, these fish may be caught by hand with a fishing permit.
Wildlife and bird watching are also popular at this state beach.
The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is located across the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) from the beach and is operated by the California Department of Fish and Game.
The beach extends from Pacific Coast Highway at Golden West to Pacific Coast Highway at Warner Ave.
