Ortega Highway Nighttime Closures Monday April 10 2023 thru Friday April 14 2023.
Weeknight Full Closures
One-way traffic control with escorts will be in place from 8:00pm-0:59pm.
During the hours of 10:00pm to 5:00am, the route will be Closed to through traffic.
Residents and Commuters Need to Utilize Alternate Routes
Access through the work zone will be prohibited during the previously stated hours.
Work will take place nightly, east of the County line on SR-74, Monday through Friday.
Weeknight work concludes Saturday April 15 2023 at 5:00am.
Residents from the Candy Store to OC line, will be directed to Orange County and WILL NOT be given access to go through to Lake Elsinore during the hours of 10:00pm to 5:00am.
Residents from Long Canyon to the Candy Store, including Tenaja Truck Trail and Decker Canyon will be directed to Lake Elsinore and will not be given access to go through to Orange County during the hours of 10:00pm to 5:00am.
Reminder Ortega Full Weekend Closure April 15 2023 and April 16 2023.

CalTrans states that, “The purpose of this project is to improve the safety performance and reduce collision on Ortega Highway from the Orange/Riverside County Line All work is anticipated to be complete by Fall 2025.”

The contractor may be changing locations nightly, which will affect the direction of travel for residents that live
within the construction zone.

Day Work May Happen from 9:00am to 3:00pm
A flagging operation will be available to assist in traffic control
Be advised, you may experience long waits and delays due to construction operations.
Please obey all posted signs and traffic instructions
CHP will be on location and citing any offenders
All schedules are subject to change

Law enforcement will be on scene to assist with traffic control.
Remember to reduce your speed in and surrounding the work zone.
