The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) continues work on State Route 74 (SR-74) in Riverside County from the Riverside and Orange County border to Monte Vista Street just west of Lake Elsinore.
A FULL 55-HOUR weekend closure will begin at 9:00pm on Friday October 13 2023 and continue to 4:00am on Monday October 16 2023.
RESIDENTS ONLY will be given access under pilot car to and from Lake Elsinore
All residents at Decker Canyon to Long Canyon, will be given access under pilot car, to and from Lake Elsinore.
No access will be given from Decker Canyon and Long Canyon to OC.
All residents on Tenaja Truck Trail or west of Tenaja Truck Trail, including the Ortega Oaks RV Park and Campground and The Candy Store will be given access under pilot car, to and from Lake Elsinore.
No access will be given from Tenaja Truck Trail & Campground/Candy store to OC .
Residents, please continue to wait for the designated pilot car to escort you in and out of the construction zone to your areas of access.
Please obey all posted signs and traffic instructions for the safety of Caltrans crews and travelers.

CalTrans states that, “The purpose of this project is to improve the safety performance and reduce collision on Ortega Highway from the Orange/Riverside County Line All work is anticipated to be complete by Fall 2025.”
