Negative determination by the Federal Railroad Administration for approval of a Railroad Rehabilitation and Improvement Financing loan to Mendocino Railway for its Railroad Rehabilitation Project that, generally, includes re-opening a collapsed tunnel, replacing up to 34,000 railroad ties and lines, purchasing rolling stock, and rehabilitating bridges to bring into use an approximately 35-mile stretch of rail line between Willits and Fort Bragg that has been out of service since 2015, Mendocino County.

Consistency Determination by the United States Forest Service (USFS) for a proposed temporary two-year prohibition on overnight camping, campfires, and off-leash dogs at Big Sur’s San Carpoforo Beach

Huntington Beach: Huntington Beach Wetlands Conservancy
Application of Huntington Beach Wetlands Conservancy for restoration within Talbert Marsh including measures to address erosion that has degraded marsh habitat along the southeastern shoreline and on the west bank of South Island within Talbert Marsh. Proposed work includes placement of fiber mat, filter fabric, cobble, gravel, soil or gravel sills, coir logs, and marsh plantings and non-native plant removal.
Proposed project includes a Biological Monitoring Plan and a Physical Monitoring Plan, at Talbert Marsh (inland of Pacific Coast Highway, upcoast of the Santa Ana River),

San Diego City Public Hearing on Land Use Plan
Public hearing and action to extend the 90-day time limit for Commission action for up to one year on request by City of San Diego to update the Otay Mesa-Nestor Community Plan (Land Use Plan) and to change the land use designation from Open Space to Medium Density Residential on a 14.62-acre site to facilitate the construction of 380 apartment units.

San Diego City El Camino Real Bridge/Road Replacement
Application of City of San Diego to demolish 2-lane bridge over the San Dieguito River and construct new 4-lane, 354 ft. long, 76 ft. wide bridge; realign and widen El Camino Real between San Dieguito Road and Via de la Valle; construct new intersection at El Camino Real and De la Valle Place; construct new medians, protected bike lanes, landscaping , multi-modal trail connections; and relocate the Coastal Zone Boundary up to 70 yds. inland, at El Camino Real, North City, San Diego

To amend permit to seasonally place beach hut in the public parking lot and chairs/umbrellas on the beach, and provide limited food/beverage service during the summer for hotel guests and the public, to extend the permit term for three years, at Silver Strand State Beach

Application of California Department of Transportation on behalf of California Department of Technology to construct segments of the Middle-Mile Broadband Network (MMBN) along approximately 130 miles of State Highways 101, 1, 199, 255, 211, 20, and 128, including installation of conduit, fiber optic cable, and vaults below ground surface, and two above-ground hub shelters and associated development near Fort Bragg and Manchester within State Highway right-of-way.

California Coastal Commission Mission

The mission of the California Coastal Commission is to protect, conserve, restore, and enhance environmental and human-based resources of the California coast and ocean for environmentally sustainable and prudent use by current and future generations.

The Commission holds monthly public meetings of three to five days in length in different locations throughout the state.
The Commission meetings provide an opportunity for the Coastal Commissioners to take public testimony and to make permit, planning, and other policy decisions.
Prior to each meeting, Commission staff collects and analyzes information pertinent to meeting agenda items and prepares written staff reports with recommendations for Commission action.
These staff reports are available for public review, by contacting the appropriate Commission office. Some
elected staff reports are also available electronically by means of a link from the Commission’s
Meeting Notice.
