Laguna Hills High School will be hosting a Marching Band Competition Tonight, Saturday October 11 2014.
The event will begin at 5:00pm and will end at 9:35pm.
Laguna Hills High School is located at 25401 Paseo De Valencia.

Spectators’ Information: Parking, Admission, Programs
General admission is $10 per person; $5 for students with ID, seniors (65+), active and veteran military.
Spectator parking is on nearby streets available on Paseo de Valencia and Laguna Hills Drive as needed. There is no charge for parking. There will be a very limited Handicap parking, however they will allow drop offs near stadium.
Tournament Programs will be on sale near the ticket booth for $5 and throughout the stadium.

Vista Hermosa Sports Park is located at 987 Avenida Vista Hermosa.
The traditional Carnival Games and Fast Rides are all set up and ready for you to enjoy.
There is also the new Fall Food Truck Festival and Scottish Strong Man competitions!
Enjoy music and entertainment at this family event.

The Laguna Beach Full Moon Drum Circle at Aliso Creek County Beach Park is scheduled for Today Wednesday October 8 2014.
The Laguna Beach Drum Circle is a monthly event that encourages musicians, dancers, singers to come together under the full moon at the ocean.
The gathering is from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Aliso Creek County Beach is located in South Laguna at 31131 Coast Hwy.
There is metered parking in the adjacent lot.
There is another parking lot across the street and a underground pedestrian tunnel.

Final Day of Buccaneer Days at Two Harbors Catalina Island.

Buccaneer Days at Two Harbors
The Santa Catalina Island Company is hosting the 25th annual Buccaneer Days October 2 to 5, 2014 at Two Harbors on Santa Catalina Island, California. Attendees are invited to don their best pirate costume and set sail for a weekend of great food, cold drinks, live music, a treasure hunt, costume contest and much more. The cover charge provides access to four days of swashbuckling fun.

This year’s event will feature more entertainment than ever before with live bands on all four days and DJs spinning hits late into the night. The Pirate Village will encompass the Harbor Reef Restaurant deck and the plaza below, with multiple satellite bars, treasure hunts and costume contests to provide fun for everyone.

San Clemente Seafest Today at San Clemente Pier 9:00am to 3:00pm.

The San Clemente Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 27th Annual San Clemente Seafest on Sunday, October 5, 2014.

The Seafest features a Chowder Cook-off, Fishermans Lobster, Business Exposition, Arts & Craft Show, Surf Contest, Children & Teen Contests, Childrens Complementary Arts & Crafts, Entertainment and a U.S. Coast Guard Search & Rescue Demo Operation all taking place at the historic San Clemente Pier area.

Chowder Cook-off
The Seafest is famous for its Chowder Cook-Off Competition held on the historic San Clemente Pier. Area citizens, restaurants, and businesses contend for the best tasting chowder this side of New England. Visitors arrive from all over the county to sample the many unique variations of Chowder.

Public Tasting
Spectators purchase tickets for tasting prior to and during the event and decide which contestants Chowder they would like to try. Chowder tasting begins at approximately 9:30 a.m. and concludes at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Judging
The Chowder is judged on a point basis for overall Best Tasting Chowder. Each team receives a judging cup prior to the judging period. Contestants then bring their Chowder to the judging area by 9:15 a.m.

The Best Decorated Booth award will be determined by our judging panel based on points awarded for originality of costume and booth decorations.

The People’s Choice awards will be judged by individual tasters ballots.

Fresh Seafood

Surf Contest
The 17th annual Surf Contest, sponsored by The Warehouse, Usedsurf.com, EDIT, San Onofre Surf Co., Brawner Boards, is held at the San Clemente Seafest. This exciting event features local amateur surfers-children & teens, competing for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards.

Arts & Craft Exhibit
The Seafest will feature an arts & craft show. This exhibit showcases only handcrafted merchandise from talented individual from Southern California.

Contests-Complementary
Contests, including prizes for First, Second & Third, will be held for children & teens – Contests: Hula Hoop Contest, Costco Diaper Derby, Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop Bubble Gum Blowing Contest, Jump Rope and Tortilla Toss Contest.

Childrens Complementary Arts & Crafts
The Seafest hosts complimentary arts & crafts for children including Beads to make key chains, necklaces and bracelets; Sticker Art and Face Painting.

Free Shuttle Parking
Free shuttle parking is available at the San Clemente High School, 700 Ave. Pico from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The San Juan Capistrano Chamber of Commerce hosts their annual Vintage Food and Wine Festival. This event is tonight, Saturday October 4 2014 at 6:00pm.
The event is held at the Mission San Juan Capistrano.
Many local restaurants, wineries and breweries show off the best of cuisine and libations.
There is live music and dancing.

You may purchase beer from a wide variety of stands throughout the event. Beer will be sold for $6 and there will be beer sampling opportunties in the Beer Festival area. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group

BBQ SAMPLES:
Enjoy delicious samples from participating BBQ teams. Tasting tickets are $2 each and proceeds benefit the Samples will be sold for $2 each. Proceeds benefit the Dana Point Veterans of Foreign Wars

SHUTTLE & PARKING:
There will be free parking available along Niguel Rd., Stonehill Dr. and at Salt Creek Beach on a first come, first served basis. We highly recommend utilizing the free parking and shuttle service from Dana Hills High School to the venue and back starting at 9am and ending at 6pm. After 16 years at their current location, What a Dish will now be adding a Thursday – Sunday dinner service to their existing menu and you’re invited to attend a ribbon cutting to celebrate this occasion. Laguna Art Museum Presents Live! at the Museum: Ceora Winds

This event is Free for museum members; free for non-members with museum admission ($5.00-$7.00)
Ceora Winds is comprised of Michelle Matsumune (flute), Heather Millette (clarinet), and Christin Webb (bassoon). The trio have played chamber music together for ten years, performing throughout Southern California and across the country. Equally adept at classical standards, jazz arrangements, and everything in between, Ceora Winds brings the joy of true chamber music to the museum’s galleries. The title of the evening’s program is “If Music Be the Food of Love, Play On!” and special guest mezzo-soprano Jenni Brandon will join in to sing a few songs.
Live! at the Museum is an ongoing series of early-evening concerts in the museum’s galleries, a feast of sight and sound. In presenting the series, Laguna Art Museum has partnered with Laguna Beach Live!, an organization cherished by music lovers for its work in bringing performances by top-level, professional musicians to the Laguna Beach community. Not only are the galleries an appropriately beautiful setting in which to experience great music, they also boast fine acoustics. The concerts take place the second Thursday of each month from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
To reserve your tickets, please make a reservation online through our website, or contact Membership Manager Valerie Tate at 949.494.8971 x203. Tickets will not be available for online purchasing after 4:00 p.m. the day of the concert, but will be available at the museum front desk. Reservation holders are advised to arrive no later than 15 minutes before the performance, otherwise your seats will be released to the waiting list. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis (only 70 seats available).
