The Laguna Beach Arts Commission meets today, Monday November 24 2014 at 5:30pm.
The Commission will be meeting in City Council Chambers at City Hall.
Laguna Beach City Hall is located at 505 Forest Avenue.
The scheduled discussion items include the following:
Artist Designed Bench – Discuss and recommend accepting a donation from the family of Robert E. Palmer for the creation of an artist designed bench at the trailhead at Alta Laguna Park.
Direct the Sub- committee and Staff to meet with the donors at the proposed site.
Main Beach Park Sculpture Competition (AIPP) – Presentations by finalists Sukhdev Dail, Pat Downing and Ricardo Duffy.
Discuss and recommend a finalist for the competition for City Council approval.
2014 Children’s Holiday Palette Exhibition – Discuss and approve 12 palettes for display at City Hall.
Arts and Economic Prosperity Report – Discuss and approve participating in the Americans for the Arts Report V and the expenditure of $5,500 from 2015-16 Arts Commission Special Programs budget.
Appoint a committee to work with Staff.
Public Art Maintenance and Restoration – Discuss and approve obtaining a bid from Moses Solorzano for the maintenance of “Blue Sky” by James Russell; “Rendezvous” by Tuan and “Wave I and Wave II” by Doug Snider and “The Discussion” by Ralph Tarzian.
