The Polar Dip Plunge tradition continued on New Year’s Day 2015 in San Clemente.
This is a annual event that attracts local water enthusiasts.
The event is held at Lost Winds Beach in San Clemente.
There was a small group of people that braved the morning water at 8:30am.
Most people play in the break of the surf.
Around ten people swam the one mile round trip to Seal Rock.
Water temperatures were between 50 and 60 degrees.
The local lifeguards are on shore and in the water for the safety of the swimmers.
Supporters cheered as the Seal Rock swimmers emerged from the water.
One Seal Rock Swimmer remarked,” It was clear out there. This is a great way to start off the New Years! ”
