Peter Clothier’s new novel, The Pilgrim’s Staff, is an explicit, unabashed reflection on the nature of masculine sexuality.
“Be prepared for a journey of discovery into men’s secret lives,” writes Les Sinclair of the ManKind Project.
“Clothier explores his themes with vitality, spontaneity, and curiosity.”
.
Peter Clothier learned about masculinity the British way: boarding school and Cambridge—and spent twenty years in recovery in men’s group work. His previous books include two books of poetry, two novels, a monograph on the British artist David Hockney, and a memoir, While I Am Not Afraid: Secrets of a Man’s Heart.
His recent Persist: In Praise of the Creative Spirit in a World Gone Mad With Commerce was acclaimed as “the ultimate survival guide for any creative artist.”
A lecturer and teacher, he is also a widely published art critic.
His blog, “The Buddha Diaries,” enjoys a global readership.
