World Oceans Day at Ocean Institute Today

World Oceans Day is Monday June 8 2015.
World Oceans Day, held every June 8th, is the United Nations-recognized day of ocean celebration and action.
People all over our blue planet organize celebrations – which can be a huge event in your community, a special announcement, or anything in between – to support action to protect the ocean.
This year, the theme is Healthy oceans, healthy planet, and we’re making a special effort to stop plastic pollution.

This weekend there are many activities to learn about our Oceans.

The Dana Point Ocean Institute is hosting educational fun events during World Oceans Day.

The Dana Point Ocean Institute is located at 24200 Dana Harbor Drive.

Today Saturday Sunday June 7 2015 between 10:00am and 3:00pm the Ocean Institute will be having many activities for World Oceans Day.

The Ocean Institute features a number of hands-on activities, presentations, tidepool walks and educational cruises in an effort to educate and inspire people of all ages to participate in their community and learn how to become involved in the Marine Life Protection Act Initiative.

In honor of World Oceans Day, their Weekend Public Program will host additional activities that are included with weekend admission.

Come learn about beautiful ocean creatures, habitats and our connection to the ocean!
