Argus Quartet is performing tonight.

Argus Quartet is a Los Angeles-based string quartet dedicated to reinvigorating the audience-performer relationship through new and innovative concert presentations of diverse repertoire.

Formed in the summer of 2013, Argus is already receiving accolades and invitations from concert series around the world.

Among their recent accomplishments is a commissioning grant from Chamber Music America for a new string quartet written by the composer and GRAMMY nominee, Eric Guinivan.

Past performances include appearances at Laguna Beach Live!, Encinitas’ Music By The Sea, and the Cello Biënnale Amsterdam.

The quartet has also won several competitions including the Beverly Hills Consortium and the MTAC San Diego Competition.

Argus was recently selected as the first ensemble to be mentored by the Brentano String Quartet at the Yale School of Music’s String Quartet Fellowship program.

They have also attended the Juilliard String Quartet Seminar in New York City and worked with some of the most important chamber musicians of our time, including members of the Cleveland, Kronos, and Tokyo quartets.

The quartet will be traveling to Australia in July as one of eight quartets selected to compete in the 7th Melbourne International Chamber Music competition.
