The Laguna Beach Police Department has issued a official statement on the Laguna Beach Fire that occurred on July 3 2015.

Laguna Beach Police Sgt Tim Kleiser issued the following Press Release on July 3 2015:

At 3:04 pm the Laguna Beach Police and Fire Departments received several 911 calls reporting a vegetation fire in the 1900 block of Laguna Canyon Road.

The Laguna Beach Fire Department, along with the Orange County Fire Authority, responded with over 150 firefighters and emergency personnel.

There are no homes threatened and no evacuations have been ordered.
The fire is approximately 12 acres and the forward progress of the fire has been stopped. Currently we are managing “hot spots”.
There are deactivated electrical wires down on Arroyo Drive and that area can only be accessed on foot.

Laguna Canyon Road has one lane in each direction now open and there is access to the Pageant of the Masters.

One firefighter suffered an ankle injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
There were no structures damaged from the fire and the only injury reported was the firefighter.
