The Laguna Beach Emergency Disaster Preparedness Meeting is scheduled for Monday September 14 2015 at 5:30pm.
The meeting will be at the Susi Q Community Center located at 380 Third Street.
Proposed Discussion Items Include:
Consider options re: initial implementation of Staff Recommendation adopted by Council on August 4 (consistent with Policies 1I-K of the Safety Element and the “one-year” directive on p. 68) for improving “everyday” emergency access in various impaired access neighborhoods. Develop a “pilot program”?
Focus on one neighborhood vs. “top 10” choke points throughout the City ID’d by FD? Start with neighborhoods having “critical development patterns with respect to fire” listed on page 41 of the Safety Element? Other ideas?
Consider how best to proceed with drafting of Defensible Space Ordinance (in line with “three-year” directive p. 69 of Safety Element), including possible streamlining of fuel mod approval process. Commence work with CD?
