Casa Romantica presents Soprano Amanda Squitieri at Casa Classic Thursday November 5 2015 at 7:00pm.
Soprano Amanda Squitieri has been praised for her “warm soprano” voice, “bright, ripe” sound (Opera News), as well as her engaging stage presence and versatility that makes her “one of the most engaging singers of the younger generation” (Opera News).
Amanda created the role of Beatrice Russo in Daniel Catan’s ‘Il Postino’ in the world premiere performances at Los Angeles Opera.
She has subsequently debuted this piece at Theater An der Wien, Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the Festival Internacional Cervantino in Mexico and Teatro Municipal in Santiago .
The Opera was seen on PBS Great Performances and released on DVD.
Both critics and audiences have praised her performance in this role with the Associated Press stating, “Soprano Amanda Squitieri sang Beatrice, moving gracefully across the stage and pairing it with a compelling voice in a manner few singers do.”
