The San Juan Capistrano Ecology Center Self Guided Tour is Saturday November 7 2015.

The Ecology Center demonstrates how a few simple changes to our habits and designing our spaces better can make a big difference toward a sustainable future.

Built in 1878 by Pony Express Rider Joel Congdon, this two story Victorian home and surrounding garden have been transformed into a center of sustainability.

Tour is at 10:00am till 11:00am Saturday November 7 2015.

The Ecology Center is located at 32701 Alipaz Street in San Juan Capistrano.

How to reduce waste.
The Ecology Center shows through many examples how to look at “waste” differently.
Even your food scraps can be useful.
Explore the Waste Lab and meet their chickens to learn more.

Growing your own food is fun, easy, and delicious!
Explore The Ecology Center’s Food Lab and learn the environmental, economic, and health benefits of growing your own food.

Given California’s current drought, water conservation is especially important.

The Shelter Lab shows how your home can easily become a model of sustainability.

Learn how to transform any shelter into a low impact dwelling by connecting the solutions you have learned into a cohesive system that will sustain you while reducing impact on the environment.
