The City of Laguna Beach Children’s Holiday Palette Exhibition submission deadline is Monday November 16 2015.
The City of Laguna Beach Children’s Holiday Palette Exhibition is a project of the Arts Commission.
This Art Exhibition is open to children ages 5 to 17.
Original designs, celebrating the holiday season, must be painted and / or drawn on quality paper on a template representing a palette shape.
Up to 12 designs will be selected for mounting onto wooden palettes.
These will then be displayed throughout December at City Hall.
In addition, selected artists will be presented certificates at the City Council meeting on December 1, 2015 at 7 p.m.
Eligibility
Entries will be accepted from children, ages 5 – 17 that reside or attend a school or art program in Laguna Beach.
Entry Requirements
Please submit the final palette design on 81⁄2 x 11” paper, in color, within the border of the specified palette template.
Please include the palette thumb hole as part of your design.
Designs will be selected from the following age groups for mounting on wooden palettes: Ages 5 – 8, 9 – 13 and 14 – 17.
The artist’s signature, age, and date should be placed on the front left hand side.
There are no restrictions on the subject matter.
Religious symbols are discouraged.
Dates and deadlines
November 16, 2015 – Palette designs must be delivered to the Cultural Arts Department by 5 p.m. November 23, 2015.
The Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Department is located at Laguna Beach City Hall.
Laguna Beach City Hall is located at 505 Forest Avenue.
Arts Commission will review and select designs for exhibition at City Hall.
November 25, 2015 – Artists will be notified of selection.
December 1 through January 2, 2016 Exhibition at City Hall.
December 1, 2015 – Artist recognition ceremony at 6 p.m. Council Chambers, 505 Forest Avenue.
Selection
The seven members of the City of Laguna Beach Arts Commission will judge the designs based on creativity and appropriateness.
