The City of Laguna Beach and the National Arts Marketing Project presents Arts Marketing Workshop Friday November 20 2015.
The Art Marketing Workshop will be at the Laguna Beach Susi Q and Community Center located at 380 Third Street.
This is a free Laguna Beach Business Event that is from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Leveraging Social Media for Audience Acquisition and Engagement
In this half-day workshop led by Linda Butler, Director of Marketing at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, attendees will learn the best practices for engaging younger audiences as well as the practical tools and implementable strategies for staying-ahead-of-the-marketing and audience engagement curve through the use of social media.
Through case studies, attendees will learn how different arts organizations are leveraging social media to attract and retain new audiences. This workshop also provides participants with the necessary practical tactics for maximizing existing and emerging social media platforms for their own organizational needs.
Linda Butler directs all facets of marketing for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
She leads efforts to increase visibility and attract new audiences for the museum’s exhibitions, collection, and programs of internationally recognized collection of modern and contemporary art. Leading up to the museum’s three-year closure (to kick-off the presently ongoing $600 million expansion), Linda co-developed a closing event that attracted over 20,000 visitors.
From there, her strategies to engage the community during the closure resulted in the wildly popular SFMOMA “On the Go” exhibitions and programs, and award-winning #PlayArtfully campaign (received the 2015 MUSE Award for outstanding achievement in Digital Communities).
The National Arts Marketing Project (NAMP), a program of Americans for the Arts, deepens the relevance of arts organizations through skill building in the areas of marketing and audience engagement.
By providing the necessary tools, practical skills, and year-round training, we help arts organizations express their relevance within their local communities.
This workshop is funded by the lodging establishment and the City of Laguna Beach.
