Laguna Beach Development Meeting Wednesday December 9 2015: Restaurants and Laguna Canyon Artists Studios

The Laguna Beach Planning Commission meets tonight Wednesday December 9 2015 at 6:00pm.
The Commission meets at City Council Chambers at 505 Forest Avenue.
The public is encouraged to attend.

The Commission will discuss various permits to be considered for various structures located on the following streets.

Restaurant Permits: to establish and operate a 39-seat restaurant within an existing outdoor terrace area at 211 North Coast Highway (currently Inn at Laguna Beach).
Site improvements would include new kitchen facilities housed within a replica Volkswagen van service cart.
To accommodate the proposed use, a parking management plan including on-site valet parking has been submitted.
The applicant is requesting three parking credits for providing outdoor seating available to the general public.

Taverna: Permits to modify the hours of operation to include the service of breakfast and to construct a trash enclosure and to install rooftop equipment at 222 Ocean Avenue.

Sergio’s Empanadas :Permits to allow four outdoor seats at an existing restaurant at 977 South Coast Highway.
The applicant is requesting approval of a parking reduction incentive of two spaces for a sidewalk café having outdoor seating available to the general public as well as restaurant customers.

Neapolitan Pizza: Permits to allow outdoor dining and the service of alcohol within an enclosed outdoor patio at an existing restaurant at 31542 Coast Highway.

Four Unit Artist Work/Live Studio on Laguna Canyon Road
Permits for the construction and operation of a four-unit artist work/live project at 20000 Laguna Canyon Road.
Design Review is required for the new 3,017-square-foot structure and 2,920-square-foot garage, elevated decks (405 square feet), air conditioning, grading, retaining walls, water feature, art-in-public-places location, fuel modification plan, landscaping and construction in an environmentally sensitive area due to open space preserve.
