
The Laguna Beach Planning Commission meets Wednesday January 20 2016 at 6:00pm.
The Commission meets at City Council Chambers at 505 Forest Avenue.
The public is encouraged to attend.
The Commission will discuss various permits to be considered for various structures located on the following streets.
Proposed Discussion Items Include:
211 North Coast Highway
Coastal Development Permit to establish and operate a 39-seat restaurant within an existing outdoor terrace area at 211 North Coast Highway (currently Inn at Laguna Beach). Site improvements would include new kitchen facilities housed within a replica Volkswagen van service cart. To accommodate the proposed use, a parking management plan including on-site valet parking has been submitted. The applicant is requesting three parking credits for providing outdoor seating available to the general public. A variance is required to exceed the maximum building height.
401 Glenneyre Street
Planning Commission Design Review to modify the exterior building color palette and remove the existing awnings at an existing multi-tenant commercial building.
670 South Coast Highway
Coastal Development Permit to create a mixed-use development through the addition of a new 1,084-square-foot, single-family residence and 407-square-foot garage above an existing commercial structure located in the C-1, Local Business District.
680 South Coast Highway
Conditional Use Permit and Planning Commission Design Review for exterior modifications in the C1- Local Business District.
Design review is required for upper level additions (1,136 square feet), elevated decks (2,959 square feet), rooftop equipment, air-conditioning, landscaping, access modifications (Ramona Street) and location of art in public places. A conditional use permit is required for outdoor seating and the service of alcohol. A total of 195 seats are proposed at the restaurant (Red Dragon, previously Mosun) and no net increase or intensification of use is proposed.
