Laguna Beach Downtown Construction Update for the week of March 21 2016
Laguna Beach Street Closures and Construction Zones:
Beginning Monday, March 21 2016 the Third Street Hill will be closed in both directions 24/7 until March 30 2016. This is to accommodate demolition and reconstruction of the special concrete pavement used on the steep street.
The special treatment used provides the highest degree of surface traction.
The majority of work should be complete by the end of the first full week in April 2016.
There will still be work on the project that will require intermittent, short-term, closures of lanes on Third Street and Loma Terrace primarily during normal working hours.
The westbound lane on Mermaid, between Second Street and Glenneyre, will remain closed through the end of March 2016. Traffic control personnel will be engaged through the end of the project to help with traffic flow throughout the downtown area.
