Proposed Discussion Items:
“The Sunbathers” by Leonard Glasser, Nita Carmen Park
Discuss City Council direction to evaluate a new piece of art from Leonard Glasser in materials that the Arts Commission believe are appropriate for the location and long duration; and determine the most appropriate location for the piece of art in Nita Carmen Park taking into account the various environmental factors.
Mural Installation, 480 South Coast Highway (Tortilla Republic)
Discuss and review a proposal to install a commercial vinyl wallpaper at the entryway to the restaurant which is visible from the public right of way. Determine if the installation should be considered a mural and take appropriate action.
Cultural Arts Funding Grants
Discuss and approve funding allocations for FY 2016/2017 to non- profit arts organizations through the Business Improvement District Cultural Arts Funding Grants.
Mural Installation, “Serenity by the Sea” by Dwight T. Porter at 199 Rockledge Terrace
Discuss a mural which has been installed without approval.
Discuss and make a recommendation to the Design Review Board.
