The Laguna Art Museum hosts a lecture on California Scene Painting Thursday April 28 2016 at 6:00pm.

California Scene Painting Lecture by Curator of Historical Art Janet Blake.
This is in conjunction with the Laguna Art Museum exhibition City Life, Los Angeles: 1930s to 1950s.
The exhibit is ongoing thru May 30 2016.

Janet Blake holds a BA in art and art history from California State University, Long Beach.
Her field as a scholar is the history of California art from 1900 to 1950, with a focus on American impressionists in California and the regional or American Scene artists of the 1930s and 1940s.
Her exhibition Early Artists in Laguna Beach: The Impressionists was shown at Laguna Art Museum in 1986, and in 1991 she co-edited the book American Scene Painting: California, 1930s and 1940s with Ruth Westphal.

Laguna Art Museum Parking

Metered parking is available surrounding the museum on Cliff Drive and Pacific Coast Highway.
The meters take quarters and credit cards only.
Additional street parking is available in the residential area east of the museum, across Pacific Coast Highway.
