The Laguna Beach Garden Club Garden Tour is Friday May 6 2016.
The Laguna Beach Garden Club will feature nine private gardens in the city’s Village neighborhood from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
The spotlight of the tour will include a historic home with nearly an acre of magnificent grounds.
The one-mile walking tour is the Laguna Beach Garden Club’s major fundraiser.
The Garden Tour proceeds supports Scholarships for students at Laguna Beach High School, Laguna College of Art and Design and Saddleback College.
The Garden Tour also supports Laguna Beach Sustainability Solutions with school gardens, local beautification projects and environmental initiatives.
This year’s event showcases gardens at new and historic homes near Laguna Beach High School.
The tour route marks the edge of the devastating 1993 fire and features stunning garden growth and regrowth.
To celebrate Laguna’s art heritage, plein air artists have been invited to set up easels in several gardens and along the route.
The tour will include free refreshments, homemade cookies and an informative brochure with map about the gardens and points of interest.
The club will also hold a plant sale and a raffle of items donated by Laguna Nursery, Dana Point Nursery, local artists and businesses.
“What is your garden style? Formal or funky … contemporary or cozy cottage … well-pruned or wild?” asked Nancy Englund, who has chaired the club’s “Gate & Garden Tour” for 10 years.
“Whatever your style, you can cherry-pick ideas from a diverse array of gardens. Don’t forget your camera!” she added.
Local Retailers will also be selling tickets at the following locations.
