The San Clemente-Dana Point Animal Shelter is hosting Calming Tails for kids ages 6 to 12 starting Monday June 13 2016.
This new summer reading program “Calming Tails” is designed to help both children and the shelter dogs.
The Calming Tails is designed to foster compassion and empathy toward animals, while boosting children’s reading skills and confidence.
The Shelter dogs benefit from some quiet, relaxing time with their new reading buddy.
These relaxation exercises are important skills for the dogs to learn, and helps with their transition into a new home.
At this time, the program is limited to residents of San Clemente and Dana Point.
The program is free and space is limited, so people are encouraged to call the shelter at (949) 492-1617 and sign- up today!
The Shelter is located at 221 Via Fabricante in San Clemente.
