
The Laguna Beach Laguna Canyon Fire that broke out earlier this week reached 100% containment on June 29 2016.
At 3:00pm Wednesday June 29 2016 The City of Laguna Beach is reported that the Laguna Beach Laguna Canyon Road Fire has 100% containment.
The area’s topography has forced fire hand crews working the perimeter to move slowly.
On Sunday June 26 2016 starting at 12:54pm The Laguna Beach Police and Fire Departments received several 911 calls reporting a vegetation fire in the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park.
The Fire was located near the intersection of Boomer Ridge Trail and Laguna Ridge Trail.
The Laguna Beach Fire Department, along with Orange County Fire Authority, responded with over 100 firefighters from several agencies including Cal Fire, Brea, Anaheim, Fullerton, City of Orange and other emergency personnel from Laguna Beach Police and OC Parks.
Orange County Fire Authority reported that 2 Cal Fire Helo’s with 2 fixed wing aircraft made aggressive aerial attacks.
Forward progress of the fire had been stopped after the fire had burned approximately 50 acres.
No homes were ever threatened and no evacuations were required.
BlueBell Foundation For Cats located at 20982 Laguna Canyon Road reported on their Facebook Page that their evacuation team was prepared to evacuate if needed.
Laguna Canyon Road had been closed in the afternoon on Sunday June 26 2016 and was reopened early in the evening.
The OC Parks closed both Laguna Coast Wilderness Park and Aliso and Canyon Wilderness Park.
Aliso Canyon Wilderness Park is reopened on Sunday June 26 2016.
Laguna Coast Wilderness Park is expected to reopen Thursday June 30 2016.
