The California State Lands Commission will be holding two Public Hearings on the Environmental impacts of San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station in July of 2016.
The Tuesday July 26 2016 meeting will be in Oceanside.
The Wednesday July 27 2016 will be in San Clemente.
The public is encouraged to attend.
Southern California Edison and its Co-Participants have applied to the California State Land Commission to implement the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 & 3 Post-Shutdown Decommissioning Project.
The California State Lands Commission is preparing to write a Environmental Impact Report On San Onofre.
The Commission would like the publics help in finding the best solutions to decommissioning San Onfore Nuclear Generating Station.
The proposed Project has four phases.
Phase 1 Decontamination and Dismantlement Projected Date: 2017-2025
Phase 2 Partial Site Restoration and Offshore Conduit Disposition Projected Date: 2020-2035
Phase 3 Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) Operation and Maintenance Projected Date: 2035-2049
Phase 4 ISFSI Removal and Final Site Restoration Projected Date: 2049-2051
