This program features an afternoon of four entertaining dances featuring distinguished choreographers Jorma Elo (Finland), Cayetano Soto (Spain), Amy Seiwert (USA), and Matthew Neenan (USA).
Described by The Dance Journal as “one of the most classical in [BalletX’s] repertoire”, Jorma Elo’s Gran Partita showcases the company’s vast spectrum of dance styles, musicality and rigorous yet supple technique.
It’s Not A Cry by Amy Seiwert has been praised as “dance at its most powerful” by Broad Street Review.

Also featured is Malassangre, meaning “bad blood”, a critically acclaimed work choreographed by Cayetano Soto that combines powerful physicality with a surprising flare of sexiness and humor.
The afternoon will conclude with Show Me, a piece that captures the dancers’ idiosyncratic personalities in new and unusual ways is framed within choreographer Matthew Neenan’s whimsical movement vocabulary.
Now in its 12th year, award-winning Laguna Dance Festival brings to the stage three renowned dance companies that promise to transport audience members into an alternately joyful and thought-provoking realm of artistic expression through movement.
