The City of Laguna Beach Open For Construction Workshop is Tuesday September 27 2016.

The City of Laguna Beach Open for Construction Workshop will focus on California Building Code Standards 2016 Updates.

Contractors, architects, real estate professionals, and residents are invited to attend.

California Building Standards will soon be entering a new code cycle with significant changes that effect design professionals, builders, property owners, and real estate professionals.

This presentation on will cover updates to the 2016 Building, Energy, and Green Code Standards.

Some of the key changes and enforcement timelines that will be presented are:

California’s Zero Net Energy Action Plan
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
New Accessibility guidelines

The City will be explaining the proposed Emergency Access Improvement pilot program in the Alphabet streets/Alta Vista Way neighborhood.
This program would improve emergency access for first responders for day-to-day operateons in the neighborhood.
The goal of this pilot program is not to create fire lanes as defined in the Fire Code adopted by the City.
What the Emergency/Disaster Preparedness Committee and City staff is recommending is parking restrictions on one, or both sides of the above streets to allow access for emergency vehicles.

The Workshop will be at Susi Q Community Center from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.
Susi Q Community Center is located at 308 Third Street in Laguna Beach.
