Mission San Juan Capistrano’s internationally renown St. Joseph’s Day and Return of the Swallows celebration will take place Sunday March 19 2017.

7:30am: St. Joseph’s Day mass at Mission Basilica

8:00am: St. Joseph’s Day mass at Mission Basilica

9:00am: St. Joseph’s Day mass at Mission Basilica

9:00am: Daily ringing of the Historic Bells upon opening of the Mission

9:00am-9:20am: Mariachi Music Mariachi Tapatio

10:00am-10:05am: Official welcome by Mission San Juan Capistrano Executive Director Mechelle Lawrence Adams

10:05am:Ringing of the School Bell & Mission Basilica School Procession

10:10am.: Renee Bondi will sing “When the Swallows come back to Capistrano,” the famous song written by Leon Rene

10:15am: Ringing of the Historic Bells In Honor of St. Joseph and the Swallows Return

10:15am-10:45am: Mariachi Music Mariachi Tapatio

10:15-11:15 a.m.: Performance of traditional songs and dances by students of Mission Basilica School

11:00am: St. Joseph’s Day mass at Mission Basilica

11:20am-11:40am: Ballet Folklorico de San Juan Capistrano

11:40 a.m.-noon: Official Bell Ringing ceremony

11:45am-12:45pm: Journeys to the Past: California Native American Stories & Dances Presented by Educator and Acjachemen Descendant, Jacque Nunez

12:00pm Tribute to our Nation’s Veterans WWII Flyover by Condor Squadron

12:15pm: Blessing of the Great Stone Church Bronze Model

12:35pm-1:10pm: Performance by Duende Flamenco

1:00pm: St. Joseph’s Day mass at Mission Basilica

1:00pm to 1:30pm: Lecture on the swallows by Dr. Charles Brown

1:05 to 1:40pm: Mariachi Uclatlán

2:00pm to 4:00pm “Swingin’ with the Swallows” Concert
Featuring the Swing Cats Big Band and Swing Kittens Female Trio

4:15pm:Ringing of Historic Bells

5:00pm: St. Joseph’s Day mass at Mission Basilica

$15.00 for Adults and Seniors

$6.00 for Children ages 4-11

Mission San Juan Capistrano Parking

Mission San Juan Capistrano is located at 26801 Ortega Highway.

There is plenty of free public parking available surrounding the Mission.
Most visible lots are at the intersection of Ortega Highway and El Camino Real.
Both lots are on the north and south side of Ortega Highway and El Camino Real.
