Laguna Beach Main Beach will be having a Public Rally on Sunday August 20 2017.
The Grass Roots Group America First! Electric Vigil for the Victims of Illegals and Refugees will be hosting this event at 6:30pm. The Democratic Socialists will be hosting a Counter Protest at the same time.
The Laguna Beach Police Department is aware of this Public Rally.

The Democratic Socialists of American Orange County have posted a event on their Facebook page to counter American First Rally at Main Beach. The Democratic Socialists Facebook Page states that they want to “send local racists a message that they support immigrants, refugees, people of color, the LGBTQ community, the working class and every other group in Orange County that these fascists want to attack.”
They are asking their supporters to bring…” solidarity with everyone in our community and good vibes”.

The Laguna Beach Police routinely monitor’s any event, rally, demonstration or protest whether planned or unplanned.
In preparation of events such as these, the Laguna Beach Police communicate’s with the event organizer and share’s their expectations related to the time, place and manner of the event, in an effort to maintain a safe environment for the residents, business owners and visitors in the Laguna Beach community.

Laguna Beach Police Sergeant Jim Cota reminds everyone that “all people have the right of free speech and assembly guaranteed by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.  This right includes the freedom to express opinions; to hear, express, debate and support various views, no matter how unpopular; and to voice criticism and opposition to such opinions.”
